Facebook to Become the Third Biggest Website Soon

This time Yahoo still the third biggest website on the Internet after Google and Microsoft sites, with 622 million unique visitors worldwide in July. But the gap between Yahoo and Facebook is only 50 million visitors and if current trends continue, by year’s end yahoo will lose 3rd position to Facebook. Facebook has 572 million unique visitors in July according to comScore.
Google as the biggest company online, facing the the great challenge from social networking sites. Yahoo, the web portal turned media company has been enjoying a solid third place worldwide when it comes to audience, ensuring it some healthy revenue and the luxury of figuring out what it wants to be. But Facebook is gaining fast in terms of unique visitors and may very well overtake Yahoo to become the third largest site on the web by the end of the year and probably sooner.
In July, Facebook gained 20 million visitors from the month before, whereas Yahoo stayed completely flat. This clearly showing that nobody is quitting Facebook over privacy issue or any other issues arise in recent past. Yahoo has about 620 million visitors, according to comScore, enough to place it behind Google and Microsoft globally. Facebook keeps on growing, by 50 percent in the past year in terms of unique visitors. It now gets about 570 million unique visitors each month, very close to Yahoo's numbers. Facebook now officially says it has 500 million active users, coz the unique visitors doesn't translate into registered users.

Facebook also overtakes Google's social networking platform Orkut in India. India, one of the few countries where Orkut retained the top spot amongst social networking websites. According to marketing research company comScore, Facebook grabbed the number one ranking in the social networking category for the first time in July with 20.9 million visitors, up 179 per cent versus year ago. Orkut registered a growth of only 16 per cent in the same time period.

World’s Fastest CPU at 5.2GHz by IBM

The New zEnterprise 196 is world's fastest, most powerful microprocessors running at 5.2Ghz, capable of executing more than 50 billion instructions per second. This new IBM microprocessor technology has new software to optimize performance of data-heavy workloads, including up to a 60% improvement in data intensive and Java workloads.
The quad-core z196 runs at an astonishing 5.2GHz, taking the title from IBM's own 4.7GHz Power6 CPU.  The new chip contains 1.4 billion transistors - 300 million more than Intel's six-core desktop CPUs - on a 512mm2 package made using a 45nm manufacturing-process.
Each core has been given 1.5MB private L2 cache as well as access to 24MB shared L3 eDRAM cache.  Somewhat uniquely, the z196 also has access to a fourth layer of cache off-chip.  Six of these CPUs can be installed into a multi-chip module (MCM) and will connect to each other through two controllers with a total of 192MB shared L4 cache via a 40GB per second link.  Apparently the processors are so fast that this extra level of memory is necessary to ensure that they are constantly fed with data.

Another relatively unusual feature is the use of the CISC-based z/Architecture, as opposed to a more common RISC ISA.  CISC has largely been superseded by RISC, but is still useful for certain operations that require very large amounts of memory to properly run.

A water cooling option is also available for the z196 that can reduce energy use by up to 12%.(9)  In a normal data center environment, water cooling reduces the required system air flow by more than 20%, while removing more than 70% of the system air heat load.

The z196 will find its way into IBM's Z-series mainframes and should start shipping at some point in September. Intel and AMD fighting for the fastest CPU crown, but IBM beat them and make a record for the CPU with the highest clock-speed.

Tips For Browsing On The Mobile Phone

I have compiled this collection from internet by sreaching a lot and providing here as sequence of questions.....
Here I'm telling you about Basic and Advanced Facts of Internet Browsing in a Mobile Phone using a external Browser. This complete guide will be very helpful to a new person in the field of mobile internet browsing. Its all about to finding and installing a application on mobile and to configure to access internet on it with troubleshooting tips. Read all basic to advanced facts for mobile internet and mobile browser to enjoy problem free browsing on your device.
So don't hesitate and start to read, its very easy:

Whats the need of a external internet browser, if my phone already have an internal browser ?
The native internal browser in your phone is only give you a limited features to access internet like you can open only mobile wap sites in it. These days there are many external advanced mobile internet browsers are available like UC browser, Opera Mini and Bolt, which gives you a super fast and full feature internet access like you do in your desktop computer.
These browser gives your features like: multi tab browsing, copy-paste like or text, desktop like view, download manager, access to any web site, bookmarks and sync, history, cookies, page compression to save money, save pages, and lots more.

Where to find/download Mobile Internet Browsers like Opera Mini, UCweb, Bolt etc?
These days there are many basic to advanced mobile internet browsers are available freely for download and to install on your phone. As you know, I regularly update my blog with all latest Java and other internet mobile browsers. You also can find at the official pages of theirs. You can ask me if seeking for one. Though most of browsers are able to work in any newer mobile but some old low memory phone can't able to use new advanced version of browsers. I suggest you to ask me if your don't know about it.

How to install Mobile Internet Browsers (Opera Mini, UCweb, Bolt etc.) in phone?
There are many way to download and to install mobile internet browser on your phone. transfer via computer to phone memory or external memory card, transfer via bluetooth to phone or simply WAP download (downloading using your existing mobile Web browser) .
You can also download 1st mobile browser to your desktop PC or Mac, and then transfer and install it on your phone via Bluetooth or USB.
To download via wap on your phone, visit the homepage for mobile downloading using your phone’s existing Web browser, and click on Download. For example to download UC browser 1st visit wap.uc.cn and it automatically show recommended download or you can select your mobile brand and model and than it show you actual file to download. Whereas for opera mini visit m.opera, com and it automatically show recommended download.

What are the differences between the “Basic (MIDP 1)” and the “Advanced (MIDP 2)” versions?
The Advanced (MIDP 2) version uses more advanced text and image compression algorithms, reducing your waiting time and the amount of data transferred. It also offers more features like page icons, more font options, better looking menus, smooth scrolling, a built-in clock, content folding and secure connections. Advanced (MIDP 2) phones can often fit large Web pages in the phone’s memory. In Basic (MIDP 1) phones, large pages are automatically divided into several partial pages.

Where in my phone can I find my Internet Browser (UC, Opera Mini, Bolt etc) after installing it?
The mobile applications store usually in two folders, one for games like applications and other for browsing applications. Internet Browsers will usually be filed under Applications, Java Applications, File Manager or a similarly named folder that can be reached from the main menu of your phone.  Occasionally, it can be found under Games, although this is typically on smaller, older phones. If you can’t find your newly installed mobile Internet browser anywhere on your phone (and you are sure that you installed it correctly), please consult your mobile phone manual or your phone manufacturer’s Web site.

How to set permissions in signed versions of Browser:
As of most of internet browser offer signed versions along with unsigned versions. The advantage of the signed version is that you can change permission settings to less restrictive permissions. The end result is that you will get fewer permission dialogs for e.g. warnings on file and network access.

How to Set Permissions? It may differ a lot among different phones, but I will give you a few examples:
In general, you have to locate the folder where your internet browser is installed. Then you have to highlight application that you wants to set permission, for exp UC Browser 7, and press an options/menu button.
Sony Ericsson: Highlight UC Browser 7, click More, then Permissions. Here you can set Read user data and Write user data which are used by UC browser.
Nokia (Series 40) : Highlight UC Browser 7, click Options, then App. access, then Data access. Here you can edit Read user data and Add and edit data which are used by UC browser.

Can I save files to my phone ? What is JSR-75 ?
JSR-75 is a specification for Java .jar applications such as java mobile internet browsers UC Browser or Opera Mini to access device internal storage and functionality within the phone. Some of UC or Opera Mini features like “Save Pages” and “Download/Upload Files” vary on how much JSR-75 that is supported by the phone.
To Test your phone to support this JSR and information about other JSR and for Java Phone Benchmark to Test and Compare the Performance Visit Here.

Why some letters look like black boxes:
Most browser uses the phone’s default font. If your phone doesn’t support certain characters (e.g. Chinese characters), then browser won’t support them either. Also when using “small font”, you can’t see some special characters, It might happen that in some languages small fonts do not appear correctly.

What is the difference between ‘http connection’ and ‘socket connection’?
If you choose to use “socket connection”, in browsers like in Opera Mini, It will keep an open connection to the Opera Mini servers. This means that pages will load quicker, and the Opera Mini servers can push updates (for example new bookmarks through Opera Link) directly to Opera Mini on your phone.

If you choose “http connection”, browser has to establish a connection to the servers every time you load a page.
Note: not all phone models and mobile networks allow socket connections. If you have problems with your connection, try to use “http connection” instead. Though its a automatic process to go for, in all new browsers if your phone support to socket connection.

What is an APN?
Access point name (APN) identifies an IP for packet data network (PDN), that a mobile data user wants to communicate with. In addition to identifying a PDN, an APN may also be used to define the type of service, (eg connection to wireless application protocol (WAP) server, multimedia messaging service (MMS)), that is provided by the PDN. APN is used in 3GPP data access networks, eg general packet radio service (GPRS), evolved packet core (EPC).
An APN consists of following two parts:
1. Network Identifier: Defines the external network to which the GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node) is connected. Optionally, it may also include the service requested by the user. This part of the APN is mandatory
2. Operator Identifier: Defines the specific operator’s packet domain network in which the GGSN is located. This part of the APN is optional. The MCC is the Mobile Country Code and the MNC is the Mobile Network Code which together uniquely identify a mobile network operator.
Examples of APN:
internet.mnc012.mcc345.gprs
internet (This APN example does not contain an operator identifier part)
For right gprs settings contact your operator. OR,
TIPS: To help you get the right settings, I have created a settings page for almost every phone model and operator in world. Please Click Here to receive gprs settings direct on your phone.

How to set correct APN Internet settings for my phone?
To be able to connect your newly installed mobile internet browser such as UC or Opera Mini to the Internet, your phone needs proper internet settings. In general, there are two different settings:
~ GPRS/WAP (This type of gprs profile use to limited or pay per bytes browsing)
~ Internet (This use for unlimited internet access. Its better and give you best for all new mobile internet browsers)
Most of new advanced mobile internet browsers like UC browser and Opera Mini usually needs the Internet setting, and to use the Internet APN.

How do I manually enter APN Internet settings on my phone?
This is differ in all mobile brands, but I'll tells you a common way to do this. 1st go to your Internet Profile Settings menu or Connectivity Options menu. Here you will see options for data accounts. Select New Account option for making a custom profile. Its ask for account type, select GPRS data type. Enter name for account and continues to enter APN here. Leave bank Username and Password fields. In option Internet Mode select HTTP or Wap. Enter proxy and port details here. Mostly limited wap based connection needs to have a proxy address but full unlimited type plans does't need a proxy to access net. Enter proxy and port accordingly, for exp 111.122.133.144 and port 8080. Now enter home page. You can enter any web/wap address her, for exp wap.google.com. Its a common way and with some common sense you can do it in any mobile brand.

How to enter APN Internet settings on Nokia Series 40 phone?
~Go into Settings.
~Go into Configuration.
~Go into Personal Configuration Settings.
~Now, press Add New (visible if you don’t have a previous Personal Setting created) or press the Options button. When you have pressed the Options button, choose Add new.
~When you have pressed Add New, you will get a new menu, which will give several options to choose from.
~Now, scroll down and choose the Access Point and press Select. (Please note that this option is not available on the Nokia 3220 model and maybe on some more models, you can instead use the Services option instead of the Access Point option on the Nokia 3220.) Do not choose the Web option, in case opera mini, may this will not work with Opera mini. Though can try with it.
~Now go into Access Point Settings.
~Go into Bearer Settings.
~Go into Packet Data Access Point.
~Now, enter you APN address corresponding to your provider. Then press OK.
~Go back to the Personal Configurations Settings menu, where you now should be able to see an Access Point selected.
~Now press the Options button, and then choose to activate this Access Point.
~Now you should be able to start your mobile internet browsers like UC, Opera Mini or Bolt, and try to load a link on your phone.
If you are still having problems with your Nokia S40 2.0 model of phone, please make sure that you have entered all the required information into the APN setting concerning proxy, user name, password, port etc.
TIPS: You can see details of Manual GPRS Configurations Here for different operators.

I have the right settings, but still my Internet Browser doesn’t work:
There are many mobile phones that require a special configuration in addition to the right gprs settings. Some Nokia phones require you to activate the settings as default in all applications. Similarly, some Sony Ericsson phones require you to set the Settings for Java separately.

Does Browsing on Mobile Browsers is Secure and Support Encrypted Connections?
Browsing is secure in most of new advanced browsers. All information sent between your handset and the Web site is encrypted in the advanced version of all newer browsers. But if you need full end-to-end encryption between your mobile handset and for example your bank, you should use a full Web browser such as desktop browsers.
Mobile browsers like UC or Opera uses a transcoder server to convert HTML/CSS/JavaScript into a more compact format. It will also shrink any images to fit on your mobile screen. This transcoding step makes mobile browser to very fast, small, and also very cheap to use. To be able to do all this process, the browser's server needs to have access to the unencrypted version of the Web page. Therefore no end-to-end encryption between the client and the remote Web server is possible.

How to protect my privacy and Why auto login when reopen browsers?
None of browser store any of user private information and servers will not store any such data.
Browser never store your password on the servers. However, server keeps track of any HTTP cookies that are set by any remote Web server. If you return to a Web page (like Gmail or yahoo mail) that has set a cookie to keep track of who you are, the server will submit it again. This make easy to login every time without entering username and password. To prevent auto login you can clear cookie in browser's settings.

AdSense Facts to Avoid Disabling Your AdSense Accounts

Here some official facts about Google AdSense that help you better understand AdSense program and how to take care to avoid termination of your Google AdSense account. You sometime face this situation for a minor policy violations. Google's first step will be to issue a warning to you.

According to AdSense blog, "We rely upon a detailed set of guidelines when looking at policy violations, and these policies are published in our Help Center. Our intent is to keep Google's content and search networks safe and clean for our advertisers, users and publishers. We seek to be as transparent and consistent with our decision making."

The monitoring the AdSense network involves working with publishers to identify and address potential issues. Google understand that there are a lot of policies to take into account, and so for minor policy violations first step to issue a warning. The reasons a publisher might receive a warning will vary, but in general they tend to be for violations that can be fixed fairly easily.
Examples of these violations range from deceptively labeling ads “Today’s hot deals” to having a minimal amount of adult-content comment spam in a forum. Publishers, after receiving a warning, are given three days to fix their violations. If changes are not made in that time, ad serving will be disabled to the violating site.

There are some situations when Google need to disable ad serving to a site without first sending a warning. Google usually reserve this action for egregious violations like adult content, copyright infringement, as well as cases of extreme violence and gore. It may also disable ads to a site when find a violation that already contacted a publisher about in the past.

The final and most severe action that AdSense teams can take is to close down an account completely. This normally only happens when they find that a publisher’s entire network consists of violating sites or for repeat policy offenders. If you have received a policy notification from the AdSense team, please visit this help center entry for additional information.

The notifications that result from the previously mentioned policy violations are different from notifications sent because of issues with invalid click activity, which are monitored by Google's Ad Traffic Quality Team. Invalid click activity consists of any clicks or impressions that may artificially inflate an advertiser's costs or a publisher's earnings, and for which Google decide not to charge the advertiser. For more information about invalid clicks and impressions, please refer to this page, which includes a link to our FAQ page for accounts disabled due to invalid activity.

Lastly, its highly recommend reviewing these guidelines to help avoid policy violations, and to help keep your AdSense account in good standing.
I hope this tiny guide will helpful to you to avoid your AdSense account termination.

Revenue Shares for AdSense For Content and Adsense For Search

Google decided to sharing the revenue shares for two main AdSense products i.e. AdSense for content and AdSense for search. Google’s advertising is a highly successful program of Google. The biggest share of its ad revenue comes from its search engine, but a significant part also comes from the ads it serves on third-party sites. The AdSense program has been doing great so far, but Google thought it was time for a little transparency concerning how much of the advertisers’ money it keeps for itself.

Neal Mohan, Vice President, Product Management at Google, wrote, “AdSense for content publishers, who make up the vast majority of our AdSense publishers, earn a 68% revenue share worldwide. This means we pay 68% of the revenue that we collect from advertisers for AdSense for content ads that appear on your sites. The remaining portion that we keep reflects Google's costs for our continued investment in AdSense,”.

“We pay our AdSense for search partners a 51% revenue share, worldwide, for the search ads that appear through their implementations. As with AdSense for content, the proportion of revenue that we keep reflects our costs, including the significant expense, research and development involved in building and enhancing our core search and AdWords technologies,”.

AdSense for content publishers serves contextual ads on third-party sites. Its advertising network is the largest in the world and its ease of use and mostly accurate algorithms, matching the right ads with the right sites, made it popular, especially with smaller publishers. Since launching the network in 2003, the rates have remained the same, 68 percent of the ad revenue goes to the publisher and Google keeps the rest.

AdSense for search serves search ads alongside queries on the customized Google search tools deployed by various sites. For these, the rates are smaller for the publishers as, Google says, it costs more to operate them. In truth, with AdSense for search, the company is providing an additional service, the search engine, besides serving the ads so that weighed on its decision. The rate has been at 51/49 since 2005, when the company increased it. For the immediate future, Google states it’s not likely it will modify any of the rates.

According to Googe, "We also offer additional AdSense products including AdSense for mobile applications, AdSense for feeds, and AdSense for games. We aren’t disclosing the revenue shares for these products at this time because they’re quickly evolving, and we're still learning about the costs associated with supporting them."

With this new update, for example, you would receive $68 with AdSense for content for $100 worth of advertising that appeared on your site. If another ad network offers an 80% revenue share, but is only able to collect $50 from ads served on your site, you would earn $40. In this case, a higher revenue share wouldn’t make up for the lower revenue yield of the other ad network.

Tips to Protect You While Online and Your Privacy

In everyday of your online life your need to fight with viruses, malwares, hacker attacks etc but another headache is your Privacy while Online. In the craze of social networking like Facebook, Google Buzz, MySpace, Twitter, Bebo, Habbo, etc, people are making more information about themselves accessible to strangers than ever before. That why there is a big issue of your online privacy. Here some ways you can protect your privacy online.

My Info: Think twice about disclosing any personal information. Avoid using your real name online. Set clear guidelines for children about when and how they can reveal information. Be especially cautious of ‘fast friends’ who you have just met online but who ask you to reveal personal information or want to meet you offline.
Be wary of disclosing personal information on a work or personal web site. Use a disposable, anonymous email account for websites that demand an email address to register. If you need to enter an email address but won’t get any email from the website (sometimes sites require you to check incoming email for login details), you can use “username@example.com” as an address. This is a protected email address that will never reach a real company or user.

Cookie: Set your browser to warn you when a cookie is installed. Note that some sites will not work if you block cookies completely. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Internet Explorer etc will let you enable and disable cookies on a site by site basis so you can allow them on sites you trust. Use an anti-spyware program that scans for so-called tracker cookies. There are also cookie management programs that can delete old cookies and help manage them. Use a plain text email display instead of HTML email so that tracking files and cookies can’t be included in email files.

Be Safe and Secure: Use encrypted links for sensitive communications; for example a VPN to connect to the office. Use an SSL-encrypted web mail account or use encrypted email. Assume anything that is sent without encryption can be read by third parties. Use encryption.
Spyware or viruses that install keyboard trackers can actually log the keys you press as you type and send them back to the hacker who installed it. These are commonly called ‘keylogger viruses.’  Check your computer regularly for spyware and viruses. Switch off Java, Javascript and ActiveX in your browser and only enable it on a site-by-site basis. Read any ‘privacy’ policy. Many are, in fact, grossly misnamed waivers of all privacy. Look for trust signs from organisations like Which that validate minimum standards of privacy and other good practice. Remember that a secure link, with a padlock and https, doesn’t say anything about the site’s business practices or attitude to privacy.

Change Security/Privacy Settings & Name: Google's chief executive, Eric Schmidt, has said young people might have to change their names when starting adult life to escape the shadow of their dodgy past. Many adults already use aliases for sites like Facebook so only those who know that know where to find them. A lot of Facebook users, to name just one social networking site, simply don't bother taking enough interest in this but it offers you some genuine control over who sees what. Here everyone may know what you doing here.

Use Strong Passwords: This is most imp thing but still people just using their nickname, birthdate, pet's name, or roll no. To add to the problem, there are thousands of hacking guides specifically designed to get into Facebook which are available via Google. The best password contains a long, interspersed combination of lower-case letters, capital letters and numbers.

Tagged in Photo: Most of image sharing or social networking sites allow other people to "tag" photos of you but you have the opportunity to remove it, which is sometimes wise. So pay attention when you are prompted to do such things.

Never use dates of birth/address/mother's maiden name: You must avoid using such things, coz these are almost invariably used as security questions for banks and credit card databases. Therefore giving them up compromises your security and makes it easier to forge your identity, "clone" your cards and steal your money etc.

Never Reply to Spam Emails: This is a old way but still working to fool people.  If you get an unsolicited email from any org or company wanting to give you a high amount of money for a simple task, never reply and delete it. It's a scam mail and harmful to you.

Not Forget to Log-Out: When your browsing at cyber cafe or communal space, never forget to log out completely. Other person can get onto the same system you've just left and can see your mails or profiles if you have not logged out properly.

Safe While on Wi-Fi: If you've wi-fi system for browsing at home, make sure to set a good password. Otherwise someone can dive into easily.

OPERA MINI TRIVIA – MINI’S BRAND/CODE NAMES

Did you know that every Opera Mini version has been given a special “Brand name” or code name by its developers, for example
Opera Mini 5.0 is named "papersoul"
Opera Mini 5.1 is named “floralspeech
Opera Mini 4.2 is named “assembler
Opera Mini 3.1 is named “viprdome” and so on
However if you are not using any of the above you can still find yours as follows:
Enter debug: or server:version in the URL field/Address bar and press Go
Once the page loads look for the name under “branding”, “client version” or “request headers/b” (as shown in the picture), that will be your Mini’s brand (Code) name! Simple!
I wonder on what basis these names are given, any guesses???
To know more about special URLs like "debug:" you may read this post.

SOME OPERA MINI 5.XX TIPS AND TRICKS

Here are some of the best tips and tricks related to Opera Mini 5 - the world’s most popular mobile web browser:

1. SPECIAL URLs: Opera Mini supports some special URLs (Just like desktop browsers) to enter advanced menuses (Enter these in URL address bar and press Go to):
a) config: - Opens advanced (Power user) settings page
b) debug: (Or server:version) – Shows detailed info about many parameters related to phone, Mini version and Mini’s server
c) about: (opera:about) - Shows detailed info about Mini version, Build and other details
d) feed:list – To show all the available feeds saved in Mini (Accessed via * and Zero shortcut in previous versions)
e) server:reset – To delete the cookies stored at server
You may read this post to know more about these URLs

2. KEYPAD SHORTCUTS – Many keypad shortcuts are available in Mini 5 (Sorry for touchscreen users) for a faster browsing experience. At first these may seem difficult to remember but after some practice you will become addicted to them. Following is the list (I use mostly first six):
a) # plus 0 – to reload the page
b) # plus # (# two times) – Forward (Go one page forward)
c) # plus 2 – To open “Search” (Shows “Bookmarks” in version 4.xx and earlier)
d) # then 5 – Go to Bookmarks page (Opens “History” in earlier versions)
e) # plus 6 – Opens “History” (To bookmark the current page in earlier versions)
f) * plus any number 1 to 9 – Go to the speed dial URL set at that number
g) # plus 7 – To access “Downloads”
h) # plus 8 – To open “Settings” menu
i) # plus * - To access “Find in page” function in earlier versions (This shortcut is not functional in version 5 and higher)
j) * plus # - To change screen orientation (Toggle Landscape and Portrait)
k) * plus * - To toggle between “Full screen” and normal screen mode
l) * plus Up Navigation (Arrow) key – Creates new “Tab”
m) * plus Down Nav key – Close the active Tab

3. THE “LONG PRESS” FUNCTION – This is a new and interesting feature added from version 5 onwards. It is just like right click menu in desktop browsers which add many useful functions. To use it in Mini 5, “Long press” (Press and hold for a second or two) the centre navigation key (Or touch and hold in touchscreen mobiles) until a menu pops up depending on where you long pressed as follows:

a) If long pressed at a link on any page, the popup menu will show options
“Select Text”
“Open Image” (If long pressed on an image)
“Save Image”

b) If long pressed anywhere else on screen, a popup menu will show
“Select Text” option (To select any text on screen). A cursor will appear on screen to select the desired text. After selecting the text press “Use”, a popup will appear showing options
“Copy” – Copy the selected text to use (Paste) in other text entry fields in Opera Mini itself (This text is not copied to phone’s clipboard and thus will not be available in other apps)
“Search” – To search the selected text with Google (Or the default one you have set)
“Search With..” – To search the selected text with search providers other than default
“Go to Address” (Only appears if a single word, numeral or textual URL without hyperlink is selected as text) – To use and go to the selected text considering it as a URL.

c) If long pressed at “Enter URL” or “Search” field the popup will show options
“Copy” (To copy the highlighted URL)
“Cut”
“Fullscreen Edit” (To edit the URL in phone’s inbuilt text editor)

d) If long pressed at Speed Dials (Thumbnails) the popup menu will show
“Add” – To add a new speed dial
“Clear” – To delete the existing speed dial
“Edit” – To edit the existing speed dial
Read this post to know more about editing/changing speed dials in Mini.

4. TO USE THE COPIED TEXT FROM OPERA MINI IN OTHER APPS OF PHONE (Like in “Notes”) follow the steps (Tested in Symbian S60 phones only):
Copy the desired text using the method described in 3. (b) above
Go to “Menu”/Select URL field
Long press (Press and hold) the center selection key (Touch and hold at URL field in touch phones), a menu will popup, select “Paste” from it
The copied text will be pasted in the URL field
Again select URL field and again press and hold (Long press), a menu will popup, select “Fullscreen Edit” from it
The text will open in phone’s inbuilt text editor, now you can copy this text to clipboard using “Pen” key and navigation keys, how? (Read this post to know how to Cut/Copy/Paste text in Symbian S60 phones).
That’s all folks!!! Tell me if you like the info….

Secret Codes For Opera Mini 4

Here are some secret commands/URLs/Cheat codes (or whatever you may call them) that execute certain functions in Opera Mini 4.1 and 4.2 (May or may not work in other versions). I don’t know whether these URLs are bugs or are normal functions built into Mini by developers (If it is so then why there is no official description of these in Mini’s feature list or shortcuts) but what I know is that they work. Here goes the list (Enter the code in URL bar/Enter Address and press Go to):

1. o:, (Alphabetic “O” then “:” then ,) - Opens the page “To add a search engine” to the list of already present
2. o:. – Opens a blank screen showing options Yes and No. Press Yes to search text in the web page (The “Find in Page” function).
3. o:/ - Opens the page “To add a search engine”
4. o:! – Opens the page of “To clear cookies”
5. o:$ - Shows the page “Failed to connect to the internet”
6. o:~ - Shows blank screen with yes/no option.
7. o:d – Opens the page to “Add a bookmark”
8. o:h – Opens the page of “About Opera”
9. o:m – Opens the page of “Search engines” to manage (edit/delete/add)
10. o: - Hangs Opera Mini
All the other possible combination (Like o:a or o:1) either shows a blank screen or hangs the app). Strangely the above codes do not work in Opera Mini 5 or 3. What do you think about these?
For universal Opera Mini codes you may read the post “Some advanced Opera Mini commands and settings”.

Fujifilm's camera takes two photos simultaneously from its two lenses which are fixed a similar distance apart to human eyes. Using ''lenticular'' technology, the separate left and right eye images are interlaced on a furrowed surface to create the stereoscopic illusion.

Go Miyazaki, division president, Imaging and Electronic Imaging Divisions, FUJIFILM North America Corporation said, “Last year, Fujifilm introduced the first real, complete solution for 3D digital photography, once again showing our commitment to the evolution of imaging technology. With the new FinePix REAL 3D W3 digital camera, we have made 3D imaging more accessible to all consumers, enabling them to shoot in 3D HD and making it easy to view their photos and movies on most 3D TV systems.”

The slim FinePix REAL 3D W3 digital camera with a black matte finish is ergonomically designed and measures 21.0 mm at its thinnest point and weighs 8.5 ounces with battery and memory card. The durable stainless steel construction ensures that the optical axis is balanced ever so precisely resulting in accurate 3D images.  The W3 also has a horizontal lens cover with wave detail, which serves as the on/off switch.

How To Get Maximum Mobile Battery Life and Backup

The battery is the most important part of a phone and everyone has a question that how to get maximum backup from battery. Its become a big headache if your battery not giving you proper backup. Phone batteries do need to be initialized properly to ensure a full life and best backup. New batteries should always be fully charged before their first use to obtain maximum capacity.

Mostly old batteries are based on Nickel, like nickel cadmium batteries, and they should be charged for a minimum of 16 hours initially and should be run through 2-4 full charge/full discharge cycles.
The mostly new batteries are lithium ion batteries and they required to be charged for about 5-6 hours, even if the phone says that the battery is full, it should be ignored as it may not be accurate unless the battery has been initialized. Lithium ion batteries should never fully discharge as their life is shortened every they are fully discharged. Instead they should be charged when the battery meter shows that there is only one bar left.

Almost all cell phones these days come with Lithium-ion batteries, while older ones used to come with nickel-based batteries. To know this you can read the label on the back of the battery or the technical specifications that are present in the manual to find out which kind of battery is present in the phone.
A well known problem with batteries is "memory effect" which only found on Lithium-ion batteries. NiCd or NiMH do not generally suffer from the memory effect. If you end up charging the battery partially too many times, eventually the battery tends to "forget" that it has the ability to charge itself fully. A nickel-based battery which succumbs to the memory effect can be reconditioned, by completely discharging, and then completely recharging the battery. A good way to ensure optimum life for nickel-battery cell-phones is to discharge them completely after a period of two to three weeks. You should also use the charger that is rated for your battery, and should discontinue the use of a charger that regularly heating the battery.

Battery Should Keep in Cool: If the battery not in use for long durations of time, you should put the battery in the freezer or fridge. The battery will last longest when used near room temperature, and it'll reduces battery life if exposure to high temperatures. You should avoid leaving phone in a hot car or in direct sunlight.

If there's no use of your phone battery for a while, you should disconnect it from the phone and store it in a cool place. For this refrigerator is good choice, and it should also be kept away from metal objects to reduce chances of oxidation. The battery is not exposed to moisture by keeping it in an airtight container or bag. Lithium-ion batteries are not designed to operate at refrigerated temperatures, so after removing from the fridge keep the battery outside the refrigerator for at least an hour before using it again so that it comes down to room temperature. Avoid storing Lithium-ion batteries at low voltage. Lithium ion batteries also tend to oxidize least when they are stored at about 40% charge.
The contacts of battery tend to accumulate dirt and oxidation on the contact points after a period. You need to clean contacts with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to efficiency of energy transfer to a maximum. In addition to that, if the contacts points are made of two different metals, such as gold or tin, accelerated corrosion can happen which is known as "galvanic or bi-metallic" oxidation. Removing this type corrosion from the contacts may sometimes require the use of solvents, such as acetone or nail polish remover.

If you follow above steps and precautions, you can get the maximum backup from your battery.
